The New York Jets announced they completed an interview with former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy, the latest uninspiring name that they’ve interviewed this offseason. The Jets are looking to replace former head coach Robert Saleh, who was fired during the season.
Matt Nagy, 46 years old, served as head coach of the Bears from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that and since then, Nagy served as offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Nagy’s time with the Bears was quite poor, however, thus leaving Jets fans feeling quite frustrated with the team’s decision to hire him.

“If people didn’t like the Rex Ryan interview, then they’re going to LOVE this,” one person sarcastically tweeted.
“I’ll quit for good,” replied another frustrated Jets fan. “Waste of everyone’s time,” added another.
“Why setback your franchise another 5 years?” asked one NFL fan.
In addition to Nagy, the Jets have also completed interview with Rex Ryan (the team’s former head coach from 2009 to 2014), Mike Vrabel and Ron Rivera, and have requested interviews with Darren Rizzi, Brian Flores, Josh McCown, Matt Nagy, Vance Joseph, Joe Brady, Aaron Glenn, Arthur Smith, and Bobby Slowik.
The Jets are also looking to hire a new general manager, and announced earlier this week they had completed an interview with Kansas City Chiefs assistant general manager Mike Borgonzi and former Browns general manager and current Los Angeles Rams senior personnel executive Ray Farmer.
Whoever the Jets do hire to be their new general manager and head coach, their first task will be figuring out the quarterback situation, as it looks unlikely that future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers will be returning to the team.
