Malik Nabers is expected to have an even better 2025 season than he had last year.

He’s hoping to follow that up with a strong sophomore campaign, catching passes from presumed starter Russell Wilson.

Unfortunately, things are being derailed due to injuries.

The New York Giants’ wide receiver will not participate in the first of the two joint practices with the New York Jets, head coach Brian Daboll said on Tuesday morning.

The standout wideout has been trying to manage a toe issue that Daboll said dates back to his time in college. Aside from missing practice, Malik Nabers is also not likely to be available for Saturday night’s game.

#Giants head coach Brian Daboll says Malik Nabers is NOT practicing again today vs the #Jets. Won’t answer whether Nabers requires additional tests on the toe at this point. Daboll also told reporters that he and Jets head coach Aaron Glenn agreed that there would be no tackling to the ground during the two-day joint practice session.

The Giants selected Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He spent three years at LSU, where he was a 2023 unanimous All-American after hauling in 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Having Malik Nabers healthy is important if the team wants any shot at being competitive in 2025.

Malik Nabers Also Dealt With Concerning Injuries In 2024 Amid A Great Year

Malik Nabers had a great rookie season for the New York Giants after going sixth overall in the 2024 NFL draft.

Unfortunately, he has dealt with a nagging toe injury that dates back to his days at LSU, though it does not require a procedural fix.

It didn’t cause him to miss any time as a rookie with the Giants in 2024. However, he was sidelined for two games while recovering from a concussion.

Despite missing games, Nabers still made the All-Rookie Team and earned a Pro Bowl bid after catching 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns.

He also broke New York’s single-season receptions record in the process and set the NFL record for most receptions by a rookie.
