It’s long been suspected that Taylor Swift’s association with the Kansas City Chiefs, due to her relationship with Travis Kelce, has been very profitable for the NFL as a whole.
Taylor and Travis began dating in 2023 and are unsurprisingly still going strong, although he was unable to win another Super Bowl with her watching on earlier this month.
According to a new report, the “Cruel Summer” artist has indeed made the league ridiculous sums, with the number understood to have already passed the billion-dollar mark.
Taylor was always going to attract new fans, given that she’s the biggest draw among the female demographic and has a fiercely loyal fan base. But not even the NFL could have expected the profit they’d make from her coupling with the Chiefs tight end.
A report based on data provided to MarketWatch by Apex Marketing, a company focused on advertising and branding services, shows that Swift has earned the league over $1 billion in “total equivalent brand value.”
“From Sep. 24, 2023, to Jan. 28, 2024 — the date of that year’s AFC Championship game — Swift created $366,753,290 in total equivalent brand value for the NFL,” the report notes.
It adds:
“In the year since, Swift has helped the NFL even more, according to Apex, creating an estimated $634,304,163 in equivalent brand value from the day after the 2024 AFC Championship through Jan. 27, the day after the 2025 AFC Championship.”
The numbers mentioned add up to a total of $1,001,057,453, which is close to half of what the NFL earned in sponsorship revenue in 2024/25 – the league brought in a total of $2.49 billion.
It appears they’re set to make even more next season, as Travis Kelce is apparently leaning toward coming back in 2025 amid reports claiming he could retire.
Still, Roger Goodell probably regrets that they didn’t hook up 10 years ago.
