Justin Blackmon, a former star wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars, found himself in trouble with the law after being arrested for public intoxication on the campus of Oklahoma State University.
The incident occurred in the early hours of April 19 and was captured on body camera footage obtained by TMZ Sports.
The footage shows the 35-year-old being stopped by an OSU police officer for allegedly wandering the campus while intoxicated.
During their brief interaction, the conversation would veer into football.
Justin Blackmon mentioned his tenure at Oklahoma State in 2011, which led to the arresting officer asking if he had played under coach Mike Gundy. Blackmon, seemingly confused, was then reminded of Les Miles’ brief stint as OSU’s head coach.
The two talked about Gundy and Miles as they waited for a bigger police vehicle to transport Blackmon to a nearby jail.
Blackmon was too huge to fit into the first vehicle.
His condition was evident as Blackmon slurred his words, appeared unsteady on his feet, and was unable to provide a clear address when repeatedly questioned by the officer. Despite claiming he had done nothing wrong, the cop clarified he was being arrested for public intoxication.
Former Oklahoma State University wide receiver Justin Blackmon was arrested earlier this month.
The Oklahoma State University Police Department says Blackmon was passed out on campus’s steps of the Edmon Low Library.
It’s a huge fall from grace for a man who was inducted into the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame class.
He was formerly the No. 5 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. However, his career would not last long.
During his rookie season, the Oklahoma native caught 64 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
In 2013, Blackmon played in just four games because the NFL suspended him twice. He would never play another down.
