On Wednesday, EA Sports dropped the official reveal trailer for their Madden NFL 26 video game. In addition to that, the company also revealed a slew of new features that have been added to the game, including the addition of RedZone host Scott Hanson.

Hanson, who finally announced last week that he will be returning to RedZone for his 17th season and beyond, will be the host of halftime shows and weekly recaps in the game’s Franchise Mode.

“We can’t share everything today, but we’re going to roll through some of our favorite gameplay features right now,” EA Sports wrote in the latest edition of their Gridiron Notes.

Among those features, in addition to Scott Hanson, are reimagined quarterback mechanics and more than 500 new quarterback animations.

EA Sports has also added to Madden NFL 26 something called Coach DNA which “mirrors the unique styles and philosophies of NFL coaches,” Coach Speak where the coach offers suggestions based on his personal tendencies and mirror the way they speak, and Realtime Coaching AI “where the CPU teams will make pre-snap adjustments and suggest playcalls that specifically counter your opponents tactics.”

The launch of Madden NFL 26 will also see the addition of nearly 1,000 new plays. There is also modernized roster management, new depth chart positions, and completely overhauled weather conditions.

Several hands-on reviews of Madden NFL 26 also dropped on Wednesday. Here are a few highlights…

“I have to say that this is the biggest jump Madden has made in a long time, especially with Franchise Mode, which has had the biggest upgrade in a decade.” – GamingTrend.com

“…while there are tons of small changes that most casual players probably won’t notice, there’s at least one that will immediately catch your eye. Madden has always had weather in the game. That part isn’t new. However, the effects of that weather are much more pronounced in Madden 26.” – Comicbook.com

“What’s most noticeable here is the change in game speed. Madden has traditionally been a little slower than the college game, even back in the NCAA days. It’s more sim-y in that way. But College Football 25’s sense of speed took the world by storm last year, and the Madden team sat up and took notice.” – Restart.run

“It’s not exactly like College Football 25, which still feels looser and faster overall, but Madden 26 surely feels closer.” – GameSpot.com

Madden NFL 26 launches worldwide on August 14, 2025.
