The next time we see Travis Kelce, he could look a lot slimmer than the last time he stepped foot on the gridiron. Yet, some might say getting in even better shape could do the soon-to-be 36-year-old good after seeing him finish with 823 yards, the fewest since his rookie season.
Listed at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Kelce reportedly lost roughly 25 pounds this offseason. Yet, it’s not known what weight he’ll be playing at now, since it’s possible his playing weight wasn’t 100% accurate either after ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Kelce was playing a bit “heavier” in 2024.
Still, if we’re going by his previously listed weight, a 25-pound weight loss would place him at 225 pounds, which is a bit light for a 6-foot-5 tight end. It’s also possible Kelce was playing at closer to 260 or even 270 pounds late last season. If so, this weight loss would simply place him back around his typical playing weight.
Yet, perhaps that’s part of what Kelce felt like was missing last season after recording just three touchdown catches, also his lowest total since his rookie year.
Nevertheless, Kelce will have a bit less mass, which he hopes to being a bit quicker and more nimble throughout the course of the season.
