Each team’s design features special pins that give a nod to the team and/or their city.
The 2025 NFL Draft is less than a month away and things are starting to take shape ahead of the Green Bay-hosted event. We’ve already gotten a look at the draft zone layout and now we’ve finally got a full look at the hats that players will be wearing on the draft stage after New Era released their 2025 Draft hat collection this week.
The on-stage hats are a black cap with brims colored a team color and have a leaf design going along the edge of the brim. They do appear to come in alternate color options as well as different fits. The most interesting thing about the hats, however, is that they feature a pin that represents something special about the team and/or the team’s host city or state. For example, the Green Bay Packers shared photos of their hat that shows a bicycle pin as an homage to the team’s training camp bike ride tradition.
In my completely biased opinion, the Packers have the best pin out of all the teams because the bike ride tradition is the greatest tradition in all of sports, according to science (don’t fact-check this).
Some other pins I like, personally:
Seattle Seahawks Bigfoot in a #12 jersey
It gives a nod the “12th man”, but also Bigfoot that “lives” in the Pacific North West. I hate the Seahawks but I appreciate the fun pin that ties in the fans and the local culture.
Kansas City Chiefs 142.2
I appreciate that it’s another nod to “fans” from the sound level when they broke the sound record at a game in 2014. I’m not the biggest fan of the Chiefs, but again, I appreciate the fan-centered pin.
New York Giants: Subway train
It feels very New York but is also a nice reminder of their handling of the Saquon Barkley situation last offseason...because talk about a train-wreck! Boom, roasted!
Los Angeles Rams: “Mariachi Rams” jacket
The pin is an homage to the “Mariachi Rams”, which is a band that plays at every game, which I didn’t know until just now. It’s fun but also makes me long for a Mariachi band at every single NFL game.
Now for some pins that I don’t care for and what I’d pick if I was the official selector of pins:
Buffalo Bills: A bison
Wow. Thrilling. The Buffalo logo they have on the center of the hat is also their pin. Meh. This team and their fans have so much personality, you can do better! If I had my choice, it would have been a Buffalo wing or a tailgate table.
Carolina Panthers: A Panther
Again, just a version of their mascot. Personally, I think it should have been the kid warming up his arm in the Cam Newton Play 60 commercial.
