Will George Pickens be able to contain his behavior in Dallas?

Pickens is now a member of the Dallas Cowboys after a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers became official Thursday.

The 24-year-old polarizing receiver spoke with reporters on a conference call Thursday.

“I found out when everyone else found out,” Pickens said, via CBS Sports.

“I feel great. I like the mojo here. I like the swag. There’s a lot of new players I’ve been meeting. I feel like they have a good thing going, for sure.”

Going into the new situation, Pickens will not be the number one wide receiver. He will pair up with CeeDee Lamb as part of possibly the best duo that Dak Prescott has had to throw to in his career.

Pickens is making it clear that there will be no issues once he and Lamb line up together on the field.

You guys making a 1A and 1B and all this,” Pickens said. “Honestly, that’s the first time I’ve heard of any of that stuff. I feel like two receivers are kind of normal. When I used to watch football, there was always a good receiver and then there was another good receiver on the side of him. I just feel like we’re going to work off each other very well.”

Pickens said he believes the trade will be mutually beneficial for both Lamb and himself, with no one worried about stats.

“CeeDee is a super dynamic receiver, super dynamic person, player,” Pickens said. “I just feel like schematically you won’t be able to double everybody, so that’ll be a great thing for me and him.”

While George Pickens understands his past actions open him up to criticism, he’s ready for the next chapter of his career.

NFL Teams Laughed At The Idea of Trading For George Pickens

George Pickens has a new NFL home in the Dallas Cowboys.

The Steelers had reportedly attempted to trade him during the NFL Draft, but nobody had any interest.

According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, teams “laughed” at the idea of bringing the controversial receiver into their locker room.

“Word leaked during the draft that Pickens was available if anyone wanted him. Some teams polled by The Athletic at the time laughed at the idea of inviting Pickens into their locker room for any price, let alone a second-day draft pick. There wasn’t a lot of interest in talking with the Steelers about a trade,” Howe wrote on Wednesday.

Pickens has often been the subject of headlines for the wrong reasons, and it seems that those controversies may have led many teams to turn down advances from the Steelers.

Then, the Dallas Cowboys, who have been known to take on problematic players, came calling.

It’s been reported that Steelers coach Mike Tomlin made the decision to trade George Pickens. He has a history of offloading problematic wideouts.
