The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders are getting a significant raise following criticism over how little they got paid.

The Cowboys’ dancers are, by far, the most popular dance group in the NFL, but folks reckon they are the most disrespected as they’re treated like they’re being done a favor and being given a privilege instead of being recognized as important contributors.

It appears that’s about to change, somewhat, as the dancers are set to make a lot more money, something which was outlined during the second season of Netflix’s ‘America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.’

The show also revealed the 23 ironclad rules cheerleaders need to abide by, and some of them are pretty shocking.

Cosmopolitan listed all of them, which can be seen below:

    1. You have to look ‘well-proportioned’ in dance wear
    1. You must wear shades that ‘complement your natural beauty’ when it comes to make-up
    1. No glitter eyeshadow — only mattes shades are allowed
    1. No fake eyelashes ‘that are very solid or very long’
    1. No ‘loud/bright’ lip and cheek colors
    1. Don’t go overboard on contour, highlighter and spray tans with ‘orange tones’
    1. No visible tattoos
    1. No dating the players
    1. You must maintain the same body weight
    1. No going out in jeans; as per rules stated in books given in the early days of the squad
    1. No chewing gum
    1. No pouting
    1. No missing rehearsal
    1. You must eat a ‘proper diet’ e.g take vitamins, have a healthy breakfast, and drink eight glasses of water
    1. You can’t appear anywhere where alcohol is served or go to parties
    1. You have to ‘give every living creature you meet a smile’
    1. No whining
    1. No being late
    1. No ‘provocative pictures’ shared to Instagram
    1. No bringing strangers into a group setting
    1. No gossiping about the team on social media
    1. Be in full hair and make up everyday
    1. You must say ‘yes ma’am’

While some of the rules make perfect sense, others seem overly restrictive, especially since the dancers only earned $400 per game for the longest while.

On the bright side, they’re now set for per-game payouts of over $1,000, with Megan McElaney, a longtime cheerleader, spilling the beans on a 400 percent raise.
