The Philadelphia Eagles continue to swing for the fences and make high-reward transactions.

However, of all the moves they made this offseason, Nelson Agholor has a favorite.

The veteran wide receiver gushed about the addition of John Metchie III.

“I think Metchie, he’s a first-round talent. He’s a quality player, great size receiver, can work inside, outside. Tough after the catch. And comfort and familiarity [with former Alabama teammate DeVonta Smith] will allow him to be his best version,” Agholor said.

It was somewhat surprising to see that the Houston Texans were willing to part with Metchie, especially considering their injuries at wide receiver.

He is a high-upside prospect who hasn’t always had an opportunity to showcase his skills, in part because he was diagnosed with leukemia after the 2022 NFL Draft.

Of course, that’s not going to change much now that he has to share targets with A.J. Brown and Smith, but the upside is there.

The Eagles can afford to roll the dice on young players with potential because their roster is stacked.

If the new player can contribute, it’s a bonus.

If not, they have more than enough depth to get by.

That’s the way to build not only a Super Bowl contender but also a potential dynasty.

The Eagles enter the season as the team to beat, and general manager Howie Roseman is one of the best executives in any sport.

Metchie now has a chance to join his long list of successful moves.
