Cleveland Browns All-Pro edge rusher Myles Garrett has played against Aaron Rodgers just once, a 24-22 loss on Christmas Day in 2021 to Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers.

Garrett did not have a sack in that game. He hopes that’s not the case on Sunday when he takes on Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. It would be an honor for him to add the four-time NFL MVP to his quarterback graveyard.

“He’s a great one. He probably will get propped up a little higher than some of the others. It’d be an honor to put him in the graveyard,” Garrett told the Cleveland media on Friday. “Definitely a lot of respect for what he’s done in his career. He’s special.”

Rodgers has a lot of respect for Garrett, as well. He even called him a Hall of Famer. With 106.5 career sacks and multiple league accolades, Garrett should be a shoo-in for Canton.

“Myles is a Hall of a Famer,” Rodgers said on Wednesday. “He might not be in yet, but that’s where he’s going. He’s one of the few players in the league over my 21 years you game plan for. If you watch the film, every team has a plan. There have been a few guys over the years like that. We have one, as well.

“When we played the Steelers last year, our plan was to get four hands on T.J. Watt every single play and not let him dominate the game. His brother was the same way when we played J.J. With interior guys, it’s sometimes a little harder, with guys like Aaron Donald and J.J. But Myles is a special talent. Has been since his first year in the league. He’s a game wrecker.”

Getting the ball out quick on Sunday against the Browns’ vaunted defense will be imperative, especially with Garrett coming off the edge. Rodgers gets rid of the ball faster than any other quarterback in the NFL. His average time to throw this season is 2.52 seconds, according to Next Gen Stats.

If Rodgers continues his quick precision passing attack, he could avoid Garrett’s graveyard.
