Myles Garrett Fueled by Steelers Fans Hate: ‘I Love the Chants’

Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett had a simple message for Pittsburgh Steelers fans ahead of Sunday’s game. He wants all the smack talk. It’s something that fuels the future Hall of Famer.

He even posted a video on his X account of Steelers fans chanting “F*** Myles Garrett” during The Pat McAfee Show at St. Vincent College this past summer.

“For sure, and I love it,” Garrett told the Cleveland media on Friday when asked if he gets more hate from from fans in Pittsburgh compared to other stadiums.“That kind of stuff fuels me. I love the chants. I love the talk. That’s part of this game. That’s what makes this game special.”

The Browns also played Renegade at practice this week to help prepare for Sunday’s game at Acrisure Stadium. It’s a song that Garrett loves.

“I’ve made a lot of big plays before that songs played and after it’s played,” Garrett said. “I’ve loved the song forever, so it adds just more of a history to it, thinking back on some of the memories now wrapped around that song.”

Garrett has played against Aaron Rodgers just once, a 24-22 loss on Christmas Day in 2021 to Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers.

Garrett did not have a sack in that game. He hopes that’s not the case on Sunday when he takes on Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. It would be an honor for him to add the four-time NFL MVP to his quarterback graveyard.

“He’s a great one. He probably will get propped up a little higher than some of the others. I’d be honored to put him in the graveyard,” Garrett told the Cleveland media on Friday. “Definitely a lot of respect for what he’s done in his career. He’s special.”

Rodgers has a lot of respect for Garrett, as well. He even called him a Hall of Famer. With 106.5 career sacks and multiple league accolades, Garrett should be a shoo-in for Canton.

“Myles is a Hall of a Famer,” Rodgers said on Wednesday. “He might not be in yet, but that’s where he’s going. He’s one of the few players in the league over my 21 years you game plan for. If you watch the film, every team has a plan. There have been a few guys over the years like that. We have one, as well.

“When we played the Steelers last year, our plan was to get four hands on T.J. Watt every single play and not let him dominate the game. His brother was the same way when we played J.J. With interior guys, it’s sometimes a little harder, with guys like Aaron Donald and J.J. But Myles is a special talent. Has been since his first year in the league. He’s a game wrecker.”
