The 49ers were ravaged with injuries last year, particularly on defense, but several key players are on track to return early in, if not at the beginning of, training camp later this month.

All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner has been declared fully healthy with defensive ends Nick Bosa, Mykel Williams, and Keion White all nearing a complete recovery.

Given the typical nine-month rehab timeline for torn ACLs, Bosa should be ready for camp in late July following a September 2025 injury. He will have had more than 10 months to recover, so he should be able to participate in some capacity even if the 49ers are cautious with his ramp-up process.

Williams tore his ACL at the beginning of November, so he will be just under eight months removed from his injury when camp kicks off. He has made “great strides” in the last month, per The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, as has White, who underwent ankle surgery in February after being shot at a Super Bowl afterparty. Both have progressed through multiple stages of their rehab process and should be back on the field relatively early in camp.

The same is true of second-year defensive tackle Alfred Collins. The 2025 second-round pick was sidelined for spring practices by offseason shoulder surgery and should be ready for the start of training camp, according to Tafur.

The 49ers were hoping that John Franklin-Myers would also be suiting up with their defensive line this year, but the seven-year veteran opted for a reunion with Robert Saleh in Tennessee rather than a return to the West Coast. Franklin-Myers considered signing in San Francisco this offseason, but California’s state-income taxes (and Tennessee’s lack thereof) were part of the 29-year-old’s motivation for picking the Titans, per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle
