More details have been revealed about the incident surrounding Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson early Sunday morning in Dublin, Ireland.

Thompson was reportedly suffered minor injuries during a robbery the evening before the Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 24-21 at Croke Park on Sunday.

Before the game, the Steelers provided a statement to NFL Network that acknowledged the incident, but provided few details.

“We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin. We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident.”

Now, more details about the incident have been provided by the Irish Times.

Thompson was reportedly in the Dame Street area of Temple Bar, the main tourist district of the Irish capital, around 2:30 a.m. when the incident happened between Thompson and a “group of males.”

Thompson was treated at the scene and did not require further medical assistance. His phone was reported to have been stolen. Thompson has not made a formal complaint to police, though the incident is being investigated.

“We are aware of the incident involving Skylar Thompson in Ireland and are relieved to know he is okay,” the NFLPA said in a press release. “The NFLPA is actively gathering more information and working to understand the full circumstances surrounding what took place. As always, our priority is the health and safety of our player members – especially as we continue to work on player protections and well-being while playing international games – and we will continue to support Skylar in any way 55 he needs.”

Thompson is on the team’s injured reserve list after suffering a hamstring injury during practice in Week 1. He is eligible to be reinstated in Week 7.
