More details emerge surrounding Geno Stone’s pay cut

Stone struggled early last season but found his groove late.

The Cincinnati Bengals are officially back in the building as the 2025 season approaches.

Last week, it was announced that Bengals veteran safety Geno Stone would take a pay cut in his second season in Cincinnati.

Stone was originally set to make $6.5M this upcoming season but instead will now make $4.9M in his second year with the Bengals.

It is fair for everyone to assume pay cuts would likely mean signing or extending someone...like maybe Trey Hendrickson.

But it doesn’t seem that way as of right now.

Stone was forced to take the pay cut, but the team did not tell him why or where the money would be going.

Stone took the pay cut because it is clear he was unsure if he would even be returning to Cincinnati after last season.

Whether you agree with the pay cut or not, there should be a reason to do that, but the reports show little clarity surrounding the situation.

Time will tell, but hopefully, the Bengals are continuing to add to their cap space for a Trey Hendrickson extension or bringing in a few more veterans.
