Let’s discuss the next contract up in the Chiefs’ long-term plans.
On Sunday afternoon, defensive end George Karlaftis agreed to terms on a long-term contract extension. This offseason, the Chiefs have been forthcoming about their order of plans:
Around the time the Chiefs agreed to terms with Smith, the New York Jets made Sauce Gardner the league’s highest-paid cornerback ($120 million, including $60 million in guarantees). In March, Houston Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. signed a three-year, $90 million extension (including $89 million guaranteed). Theoretically, those contracts should provide the Chiefs and McDuffie’s team some parameters to use.
So... therein lies the question: will the Chiefs lock up McDuffie before the end of training camp? Let us know what you think in our comment section.
