With Jaire Alexander’s status now officially settled, the Packers need to get high-level play out of three
Jaire Alexander will not be a member of the Green Bay Packers by the end of the day. The bizarre offseason between those two parties is finally over, and it ends with the Packers getting nothing back for him and Alexander looking for a new home over the summer.
With Alexander no longer in the fold, pressure will now build on Keisean Nixon to lead the cornerback group. To be fair, he did just that for much of the 2024 season, but this will be the first year that he heads into the season as the clear CB1 on the team.
While Carrington Valentine and new arrival Nate Hobbs will also be called upon to play major roles, Nixon will need to be a shutdown corner, and he certainly sounds ready for that responsibility. Today’s Curds find some comments from Nixon that were published even before the news Alexander’s departure broke, and he is saying the kinds of things you want to hear from a player taking over leadership at that position.
Here’s that and much more to start the week as the Packers prepare to begin veteran minicamp on Tuesday.
