Tonight we have a Monday Night Football doubleheader. Kicking off at 7 p.m. EDT we have the Houston Texans hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the nightcap, kicking off at 10 p.m. EDT, the Las Vegas Raiders host the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Houston Texans got off to a rough start offensively this season, falling to the Los Angeles Rams, 14 – 9 in Week 1. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on the other hand, got off on the right foot, squeaking out a last minute victory over the Atlanta Falcons on a touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield to Emeka Egbuka. The Texans will be hoping to avoid an 0-2 start while getting the offense going, while the Buccaneers will be looking to stay undefeated in the early going of the 2025 NFL season.
Pete Carroll got his stint with the Raiders off to a good start as they defeated the New England Patriots 20 – 13 to open the season. The Chargers also got off on the right foot, taking down their nemesis, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, by a 27 – 21 score in Week 1. The Raiders and the Chargers will be playing for sole possession of first place in a suddenly wide open AFC West tonight, as the Chiefs have stumbled to an 0-2 start this season.
