The Denver Broncos host the Cleveland Browns tonight on Monday Night Football

Monday Night Football, Week 13. Tonight the Denver Broncos host the Cleveland Browns. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 pm EST. The Broncos are 6.5 point home favorites against the Browns according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The 7-5 Denver Broncos come into this game winners of two straight games, including a 29 - 19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders last week. On the season the Broncos are a below average offensive team both in the passing game and in the running game, although rookie quarterback Bo Nix has been developing nicely, and recently the Broncos offense has been much better. Defensively the Broncos are one of the best teams in the NFL, boasting the league’s 3rd ranked defense in terms of yards allowed and 2nd ranked defense in terms of points allowed. The Broncos currently are the 7th and final playoff seed in the AFC, so they are playing to keep pace in the AFC playoff race.

The 3-8 Cleveland Browns come into this game off a 24 - 19 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Prior to that upset of the Steelers the Browns had lost seven of eight games. The Browns don’t do much well on the football field. They rank 31st in the NFL in points scored and 29th in yards gained. The Browns have scored less than 19 points in all but two games this season. It’s tough to win games when you can’t score.

On defense the Browns have been only marginally better. They rank 23rd in the NFL in points allowed and yards allowed. The Browns have allowed 20+ points in all but two games this season. A team that can’t score and can’t stop opponents from scoring is a recipe for failure, and the Browns have failed a lot this season. With their playoff hopes all but extinguished, the Browns have little to play for other than pride tonight.

The Broncos have home field advantage, and they have been the better team on both sides of the ball this season. The Broncos also have something to play for. All signs point to a Broncos victory. I’m taking the Broncos to beat the Browns at home. If you bet, good luck to you, and please consider using our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook.
