Harrison Phillips has a new address and zip code.
Heading into their preseason finale on Friday against the Tennessee Titans, the Minnesota Vikings have traded away a player who has been a solid contributor over the past couple of seasons.
The New York Jets reportedly added a veteran presence to their defensive tackle rotation on Wednesday by trading for Harrison Phillips.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that the Jets sent a 2026 sixth-round draft pick and a 2027 sixth-round draft pick to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Phillips and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick.

The trade is pending a physical from Phillips.
Harrison Phillips was in line to start at nose tackle between offseason acquisitions Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen, as the Vikings accrued some depth along the defensive line.
In addition to being a beast on the field and a leader in the locker room, Phillips was deeply involved in charity efforts ranging from his Harrison’s Playmakers organization to participating in many of the team’s community service projects.
He will truly be missed on and off the field.
This move might be welcoming to Vikings fans, as it should help take attention away from their team’s role as the face of male cheerleaders heading into the 2025 season.
Harrison Phillips signed a two-year contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings, keeping him with the team through the 2026 season.
The extension included $13 million in guarantees.
His extension means he would be back looking for a new mega deal at the age of 30 or 31, something the Vikings likely did not want to do going forward.
Aside from trading him, the Vikings will still pay half of Phillips’ salary for the 2025 season. Tied to a guaranteed $7 million 2025 base salary and $400K in per-game roster bonuses, Phillips will receive payments from multiple teams this year.
The trade also clears salary cap space for the Vikings, suggesting a companion move could follow to bring in a new player before the start of the season. Rumors have swirled that they could target a wide receiver as a result of the suspension to Jordan Addison.
