Minnesota Vikings Odds: A Look at 2025 Expectations

Minnesota Vikings Odds: A Look at 2025 Expectations
Daily Norseman Daily Norseman

With our friends at FanDuel officially celebrating Futures Day, we’re taking a couple of opportunities before the roster excitement really gets underway to look at a few more things for the Minnesota Vikings as far as how the sharps are viewing them for the 2025 NFL season. We’ve got several different odds for them here, including my thoughts on what they reflect.

Spoiler. . .I’m slightly biased towards the Vikings in pretty much every respect. Take any advice I might have accordingly.

Super Bowl Odds

According to FanDuel, the Vikings are currently at +2200 to win the Super Bowl this year. For the uninitiated, that means for every $100 you bet, if it cashes in you win $2200. Those odds are currently the seventh-highest in the NFC behind (in order) Philadelphia, Detroit, Green Bay, San Francisco, Washington, and Los Angeles. Honestly, at the moment that seems a little low. I don’t understand the fascination with Green Bay, but we’ll get to that more here in a bit.

Betting on the Vikings (or anyone, really) to win the Super Bowl is a risky proposition, but as you can see it’s one that can be extremely profitable if you happen to hit. If you want to make a modest wager on the purple, it could net a solid return.

Playoff Odds

The Vikings currently have the seventh-highest odds in the NFC to win the Super Bowl, but currently only the eighth-highest odds of making the playoffs in the first place. Their +105 odds of making the postseason means that, according to the current odds, they would be the first team out of the 2025 playoff field. They currently sit behind the seven teams listed above and Tampa Bay because, well, someone has to win the NFC South (the rules say so), and Tampa is as good a bet as anyone.

I think I’ve made it pretty clear that the Vikings are going to make the playoffs this year, but there’s not a lot of juice to be had for potentially betting on that.

Win Total

We’ve already gone over this one a bit, with the Vikings’ over/under currently being set at 9.5 wins. If you can find it at that number or lower, feel free to absolutely hammer that thing because the Vikings should win double-digit games this season.

Division Winner

The Vikings are currently at +290 to win the NFC North, behind Detroit (+170) and Green Bay (+220). Again, I’m not sure why the sharps are so high on Green Bay. . .there’s nothing right now, at least that I can see, that indicates that they’re going to be better than the Vikings this season, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. The Vikings are a much more logical pick to win the North than the Packers are if you’ve got some money burning a hole in your pocket.

Player Milestone

Right now, FanDuel has J.J. McCarthy as a +230 to throw 30 or more...
