They’re heading into the locker rooms at halftime in Detroit, with your Minnesota Vikings leading the Detroit Lions by a score of 17-14.

The Vikings had the ball deep in their own territory to start the quarter, but quickly went three and out with Detroit starting their next possession from the Minnesota 35-yard line. The Lions took advantage of the short field and once again faced a fourth-down situation. They got into the end zone courtesy of David Montgomery, who took the handoff from Goff and went in from two yards out to tie the score at 14-14.

Minnesota took the lead back on their next possession, courtesy of a 50-yard field goal from Will Reichard to make it 17-14. The defense then forced another three-and-out and took over at their own 25-yard line with just over three minutes remaining in the half.

The Vikings then marched into Detroit territory, but J.J. McCarthy threw a pass behind Jalen Nailor that wound up in the hands of Terrion Arnold for an interception. That gave the Lions the ball back with 37 seconds left and all of their timeouts. But, the Vikings’ defense forced another three-and-out, and that’s how we go into halftime.

The Vikings will get the ball back after halftime, as they deferred on the opening coin toss. They’ll have an opportunity to add on to a lead, as they currently have a 17-14 advantage over the Lions. Come in and join us for the third quarter of play!
