We are right around ninety minutes from kickoff at Soldier Field for Monday Night Football, and both the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears have released their inactive lists for tonight’s contest. Let’s take a look at who will be in street clothes for this one.
Smith didn’t travel with the team, as we passed along yesterday, as he continues to deal with his personal health issue. No other surprises for the Vikings on the injured list as far as we can see. Christian Darrisaw, who had been listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report, is out of this one. . .which, given the current field conditions at the cow pasture known as Soldier Field, might not be all bad.
Free agent acquisition Justin Skule will start in Darrisaw’s place. The Vikings also elevated WR Tim Jones from the practice squad for tonight’s game.
Jaylon Johnson, the Bears’ best corner, missed a significant portion of training camp and was listed as “questionable” for this one with calf and groin injuries. His absence is a pretty huge one for the Bears, as is the absence of Gordon, the best slot corner the Bears have. Gordon was a late addition to the practice squad with a hamstring issue. This means the Bears are without their two best cornerbacks in this one. They’re also without Roschon Johnson, who might be their best pass-catching back.
Those are the inactive lists for tonight’s game, folks. We’ll be along with the Open Thread for the first quarter of tonight’s contest approximately 30 minutes before kickoff at 6:45 PM Central time. We hope that you’ll join us there!
