Be sure to arrive to Lincoln Financial Field with a full stomach and a strong buzz if you are planning to attend a Philadelphia Eagles game during the 2025 NFL season. The outrageous price of concessions makes food and drink largely unaffordable.
It is way too expensive.
Hand up, I am not entirely sure how this compares to the rest of the NFL or to professional sports as whole. Cost of living continues to increase in all facets of our daily lives but this is truly outrageous!
Eagles Nation posted a photo of the menu at the Chickie’s & Pete’s food stand inside of Lincoln Financial Field. Chickie’s & Pete’s is a chain of sports bars in the greater Philadelphia area.
The menu for the restaurant does not match the menu at the food stand.
If you were to get a table at Chickie’s & Pete’s, a single serving of chicken cutlets would cost $7.99. Crab fries with two dipping sauces also cost $7.99.
If you were to place that exact same order at Lincoln Financial Field, it would cost more than double! Here is how the on-site Chickie’s & Pete’s menu breaks down by item:
Ouch. That hurts the wallet and the soul.
To put those numbers in perspective, lets compare these prices to minimum wage. The current minimum wage in Philadelphia, as in the rest of Pennsylvania, matches the federal rate set in 2009 at $7.25 per hour.
A minimum wage employee needs to work 1.5 hours to afford a bottle water at Lincoln Financial Field. He or she must work a few minutes past 2.5 hours to purchase a single beer. More than a half day of work is required to eat a single order of crab fries with that beer. Two beers and fries would cost a full day’s pay.
That does not even include the price of the actual ticket or the cost of transportation and/or parking!
The common man can no longer afford to attend a Philadelphia Eagles game, let alone purchase food and drink at the game. It has reached the point of no return. Everything is so expensive.
