Christian Gonzalez has yet to play this season after suffering a hamstring injury during training camp. However, he returned to practice on Wednesday, raising some uncertainty about his availability for this week’s game.

Mike Vrabel told reporters after Friday’s practice that Gonzalez is questionable for Sunday.

“We listed him as limited, which means that he did some work,” Vrabel said, via Patriots on CLNS. “We’ll still kind of evaluate where he’s at towards closer to the game.” “It was good to see him out there, very good to have him out there, and the more guys we can get out there, the better.”

Gonzalez didn’t have a full practice all week, meaning he likely didn’t participate in live team drills, which isn’t a good sign that he will suit up in two days.

It’s challenging for a player to participate in a game after recovering from a two-month hamstring injury, especially without a full practice before their return.

It would be nice for New England to have Gonzalez back this week, but the Patriots still have 14 games left after Sunday. There’s no point in rushing Gonzalez back and risking a setback that could keep him out even longer.
