FOXBOROUGH — For the past few seasons, the New England Patriots have not had a solid offensive line. Whether it’s due to injuries or just a lack of talent, the inability to make plays because of this has been clear.

However, Mike Vrabel put an emphasis on fixing it during the offseason, bringing in some key pieces that will help Drake Maye and the offense get going.

New England signed veteran right tackle Morgan Moses to a three-year, $24 million deal, along with bringing in veteran center Garrett Bradbury on a two-year deal worth up to $12 million.

The Patriots then drafted LSU tackle Will Campbell in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Plus, all of these moves make it so star offensive lineman Mike Onwenu can move to right guard, which is his best position.

But what does that mean for left guard?

That is one of the main position battles that will take place throughout the summer, with the opportunity for anyone to step up and make an impact. However, Mike Vrabel hasn’t had the chance to truly get a look at this competition yet.

That will wait for training camp.

“We’ll be able to evaluate the linemen once we get to training camp,” Vrabel told reporters on Monday at mandatory minicamp. “We’re moving a lot of guys through there. We’ll have to make a lot of those decisions and determinations once we get to training camp and there’s pads and start stacking some days together. This is purely a passing camp. I don’t know if we get a full evaluation without shoulder pads on as an offensive lineman.”

Cole Strange and Wes Schweitzer have been taking the majority of the snaps throughout the spring and early summer, but when training camp begins and the pads come on, it will be interesting to see what they decide for the rotations on the offensive line.
