The New England Patriots can clinch their first AFC East title in six years with a win against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel isn’t counting out the team’s Week 15 opponent though.

The first-year leader discussed the state of the division race during a Monday appearance on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” and dished heavy praise for Bills quarterback Josh Allen as well.

“That team’s not going away,” Vrabel said. “They have a quarterback who is an MVP quarterback that under any circumstances is going to be ready to win the football with whatever running or throwing that he has to do, and then whenever they need a play, he seems to make it.”

The former Pro Bowl linebacker said he was tuned into Buffalo’s Week 14 matchup vs. the Cincinnati Bengals, a game the Bills won 39-34.

Buffalo improved to 9-4 with the victory and would still trail the 11-2 Patriots if it were to win in Week 15.

“Well, it’s what we’re playing for,” Vrabel said of a potential Super Bowl championship this winter. “We’re playing for a championship this week. Each week you have a new opportunity, a new message. This is a championship week for us, an opportunity to win the AFC East, something that this team hasn’t done in five years. Buffalo has done it five years in a row.”

New England saw the Denver Broncos retake the lead in the chase for the AFC’s No. 1 seed on Sunday after the latter’s Week 14 win against the Las Vegas Raiders.
