Former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is busy assembling his coaching staff as the new head coach of the New England Patriots. Vrabel is getting the band back together, having hired several former Titans coaching and front-office assistants, including Terrell Williams, Ryan Cowden, and John Streicher. It turns out he’s also poaching an assistant directly from Brian Callahan’s current staff, having hired Clint McMillan.

McMillan served as the Titans’ assistant defensive line/pass rush specialist in 2024. He was one of few holdovers from Vrabel’s staff who Callahan opted to retain. Others included Justin Outten and Chris Harris, who are also departing Tennessee’s coaching staff.

McMillan joined the Titans in 2021 as a defensive assistant. He eventually began working as Williams’ defensive line assistant, and the pair are now reuniting under Vrabel in New England. McMillan isn’t the lone Nashville-era Vrabel staffer to reunite with the three-time Super Bowl winner in Foxborough. Former Titans offensive line coach Jason Houghtaling is also joining the staff. Houghtaling was not popular with the fans.

The Titans did not immediately name a replacement for McMillan despite Monday’s staffing announcement. Other notable changes include the confirmation of John “Bones” Fassel as special teams coordinator and the departure of Colt Anderson. Fassel is bringing Rayna Stewart to replace Anthony Levine (also gone) as special teams assistant coach. Tony Oden is replacing Harris as cornerbacks coach and passing game coordinator.
