Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin shares one positive takeaway from their Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

There weren’t a lot of positive things to take away from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 33-31 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football. However, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did reveal one silver lining after the game.

Tomlin shared that the team was able to escape the game without losing any of its players to major injuries.

“No real injuries to speak of,” Tomlin said. “We had some bumps and bruises associated with play. Next time we get together, I’ll provide some details in that area, if necessary.”

Pittsburgh would have also liked to escape the game with a win now that the gap is narrowing in the AFC North, but it is good news given the number of injuries the team has faced through the first seven weeks of the season.

In fact, last week was the first time the Steelers defense had all of its starters available to play at the same time. That remained true this week, too, but the product was far from the same as the unit allowed 470 total yards of offense.

Pittsburgh will need to make some adjustments to make sure that type of performance doesn’t happen again. Luckily, the team has a mini bye week to do just that.

Then the Steelers have yet another primetime matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football in Week 8. However, barring any unforeseen injuries during the upcoming week of practices, Pittsburgh should be fairly healthy heading into the game.
