The Pittsburgh Steelers’ bye week came at an opportune time, as key starters who have been on the shelf appear set to return, giving the team a significant boost.

During his weekly Tuesday afternoon press conference, Tomlin provided multiple updates on the injury front via the team’s YouTube channel.

Joey Porter Jr. missed the team’s last three games after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1 against the Jets. He was a limited participant in practice leading up to their game in Ireland, but the team was cautious in their approach.

Alex Highsmith suffered a high ankle sprain two weeks ago, but the Steelers pass-rush didn’t miss a beat.

Tomlin said that the “Arrow is pointed up in their participation.”

Jaylen Warren was a surprise inactive against the Vikings, but Tomlin said he “looked really good yesterday,” and it appears he is on track to suit up.

Unfortunately, they did suffer two significant injuries in Dublin, as Jalen Ramsey left the game with a hamstring injury, and Calvin Austin III was transported to the hospital with a shoulder injury.

Regarding those two, Tomlin said they were “limited early part of the week” – but could perk up at the latter part of the week.

“Both have been highly aggressive in their rehabilitation over the bye week,” Tomlin said.

Per usual, Tomlin stated the quality of their participation this week will determine if they play. Considering the initial worries for both Austin and Ramsey, though, it looks like they’ll both have a chance to suit up Sunday.

The Steelers will host the Cleveland Browns this weekend, aiming to improve to 4-1 and create a significant gap between themselves and the rest of the AFC North. They are currently a 5.5 point favorite according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
