Mike Tomlin spoke on Sunday and told reporters that he is open to more staff changes that are ongoing.
**PALM BEACH–**After the Pittsburgh Steelers were sent home from postseason contention, head coach Mike Tomlin vowed to make “significant” changes–including staff changes. Though the Steelers have seen some relatively light turnover, the changes made at hand weren’t necessarily groundbreaking. On Sunday, Tomlin was asked if any other changes were coming.
“They’re ongoing. They are,” Tomlin responded regarding making further changes. “That’s what this time of the year is about for us–wrapping a bow around 2024, learning lessons, planning … and putting plans into action.”
The Steelers have made changes such as moving on from up-and-rising defensive backs coach Grady Brown. They also brought in Scott Mccurley to replace Aaron Curry and Gerald Alexander to take over Brown’s former position.
Despite this, Tomlin indicated how he feels about adding to his staff at this point in the offseason. “I am open to it.” Tomlin said regarding making more moves to finalize the coaching staff.
Tomlin also spoke on offseason acquisitions, the ongoing Aaron Rodgers saga, and reviewing rule changes as a member of the competition committee. A big takeaway, however, is the fact that the 19th-year head coach is not satisfied with the way 2024 ended and is still open to all avenues to improve his club.
