PITTSBURGH — Like most football teams at this time of the year, the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to have a lengthy injury list, but head coach Mike Tomlin had mostly good news to offer during his weekly press conference on Tuesday ahead of the team’s Week 16 trip to visit the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.

The Steelers are playing on a short week following their Monday Night Football victory over the Miami Dolphins, and Tomlin was speaking just hours after the final whistle blew at Acrisure Stadium the night before, but he still didn’t rule out a single member of the team’s 53-man roster for the final intra-conference trip.

Left guard Isaac Seumalo (triceps) and outside linebacker Nick Herbig (hamstring) both suffered injuries on Monday night against the Dolphins, but Tomlin said that both will have an opportunity to practice this week.

“I would imagine (Seumalo) is certainly going to be limited in the early portions of the week and we’ll see where it leads us,” Tomlin said. “We’ll see where it leads us. The same thing can be said for Herbig with his hamstring. We’ll see where it leads us.”

Tomlin also said that three players that did not play against the Dolphins could make a return this week. He was confident about a return for defensive lineman Derrick Harmon (knee) and said that cornerback James Pierre (calf) could get back in action soon, as well.

“James Pierre was limited with a calf last week,” Tomlin said. “We’ll see where that leads us.”

He did not have a significant update for offensive lineman Andrus Peat, who remains in the NFL concussion protocol, and outside linebacker T.J. Watt, who is recovering from a partially collapsed lung, but neither player was ruled out for this week.
