DK Metcalf is going viral for all the wrong reasons.

Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers are one step closer to securing their first AFC North division crown since 2020. But that’s hardly the main storyline in Steel City.

During the second quarter of the Steelers’ road game against the Detroit Lions, cameras showed wide receiver DK Metcalf exchanging words with a fan of the home team. Metcalf was apparently unhappy with something said and proceeded to punch the fan in the face.

Mike Tomlin and DK Metcalf were awfully unfortunate that the refs didn’t see the incident as it unfolded. Otherwise, Metcalf would have certainly been ejected. And the Steelers likely wouldn’t have escaped with a 29-24 win.

Per Steelers Depot, Tomlin told reporters after the game that he had no comment on the incident. Tomlin told the media he was informed of the incident but had yet to see a video of it.

Pittsburgh’s win, coupled with the Baltimore Ravens’ loss to the New England Patriots, sets up a simple scenario: Win one of its final two games, and the Steelers will lock up the AFC North.
