Chris Boswell may not have earned the raise he was looking for to be the highest-paid kicker in football, but it certainly doesn’t mean he’s not the best.

Boswell proved it again on Sunday as the Steelers took down the New York Jets, 34-32, in a thrilling afternoon to begin the 2025 NFL season.

With their backs against the wall and trailing by one with just over a minute remaining, Boswell drained a new career high to secure the victory.

Boswell connected on a 60-yard field goal to put the Steelers ahead.

Mike Tomlin praised his star kicker with a unique compliment in the most pressing moments.

“I can’t say enough about Boz,” Tomlin said. “Man, our kicker is a serial killer. He’s got a low pulse rate. He can’t wait to deliver.”

It was Boswell’s second field goal of the day, topping the 56-yarder he made in the first half.

The kick was Boswell’s 11th career game winner in the final two minutes of regulation or overtime, extending his own franchise record.

Boswell entered his 11th season as the fourth-most accurate kicker in NFL history and continues to increase his case as one of the greatest kickers of all time.
