Cameras caught Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry giving a powerful message to rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders during his preseason debut last week.
The 23-year-old quarterback had a tremendous outing in his first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, completing 14 of 23 pass attempts for 138 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 30-10 victory.
Aside from a strong performance on the field, Shedeur Sanders’ first preseason game delivered excellent ratings with 2.2 million viewers. Those are impressive numbers for a preseason game played almost entirely by second and third-stringers.
After Sanders’ excellent outing against Carolina, mic’d up cameras caught Berry giving the rookie a heartwarming message.
“Really, really good job,” Berry said. “I’m proud of you.”

Unfortunately, fans must wait at least one more week to see the Colorado product back in action, as Shedeur Sanders suffered an oblique injury in Wednesday’s practice that will keep him out of Saturday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett have long been regarded as the front-runners to earn Cleveland’s starting QB job. Unfortunately, Sanders’ oblique injury might have cost him the chance to further showcase his talents and strengthen the case for the QB1 job.
