Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys are currently entrenched in a contract battle. Parsons is headed into the final year of his rookie contract, and he wants a raise plus more long-term financial security. The Cowboys, to this point, have been unwilling to meet Parsons’ asking price.
The eventual outcome is unpredictable, though most anticipate the Cowboys working something out with their best player before the regular season officially kicks off. Meanwhile, Parsons has requested a trade out of Dallas.
But if Parsons did get traded, where would he go? The latest speculation points him to the Los Angeles Rams.
Why? Because now-retired future Hall of Fame defender Aaron Donald tweeted about the possibility of Parsons joining the Rams, and even went as far as to say he may be willing to come out of retirement to form a dynamic duo with the All-Pro sack artist.
“If [Parsons goes] to the Rams I might have to . . . get in football shape,” Donald said. “Wit that Dline would be unreal.”
Donald’s tweet caught the eye of Parsons, who replied with, “Don’t tell me info like that!!” Parsons also tagged his agent, David Mulugheta, whom the Cowboys have yet to negotiate with.
Still just 34 years old, Donald may very well have a few years left in the tank, especially after spending all of last year out of football. However, a year off may also leave him a bit rusty. Yet, if there’s anyone who could likely quickly whip into football shape, it’s the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
