A day many thought would never happened has happened. Jerry Jones has traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers a week before the team opens the 2025 NFL season against their arch-enemy, the Philadelphia Eagles.
It was just a few short months ago when most of Cowboys Nation thought that sometime over training camp, Jones and Parsons would reach a deal and we’d all move on to the 2025 season. It felt like the 2024 situation with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb all over gain.
Then things took a darker turn. Parsons was doing a hold-in at training camp when the meeting at the combine between Jones and Parsons spilled out into full public view. There were some personal shots taken and some increasingly combative language being used, culminating with Parsons’ trade request.
Today, the Cowboys actually did what Parsons asked and traded him, instead of just fixing the situation and signing him to a deal.
Parsons penned a goodbye on social media. He makes clear his love for the franchise and fans, but the relationship with Jerry Jones must have been irretrievably broken.
