Micah Parsons is done playing games.

The Dallas Cowboys and their star linebacker are at an impasse on contract negotiations.

Just a month before the start of the 2025 season, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports that Parsons is considering taking “drastic measures, which could include a trade request. “

“The Micah Parsons-Cowboys relationship has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures, which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team, per multiple league sources familiar with the situation,” Russini wrote on X.

“The two sides remain far apart heading into the second week of training camp, and are not currently negotiating.”

The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his rookie deal. The two-time All-Pro pass rusher negotiated directly with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in the spring.

The team believed they had a deal in place, but Micah Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, reportedly pushed back and wanted to negotiate further. The Cowboys declined to engage with him, and negotiations have now completely stalled.

Parsons is the latest example of Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones waiting for a deal to come together at the last minute.

Micah Parsons has 52.5 sacks over the past four seasons and is due for a massive extension.

Adam Schefter Reveals Contract Talks With Micah Parsons “Have Gone Backwards”

The relationship between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering demanding a trade.

The two sides reportedly aren’t currently negotiating, nor is Parsons practicing.

According to Adam Schefter’s latest update, things appear to be in a holding pattern.

Schefter, speaking on his podcast, said Parsons and the Cowboys were “nowhere” as of Tuesday. He added that the sides are farther apart than a few months ago, indicating things have “gone backwards, not forwards.”
