Green Bay Packers star linebacker Micah Parsons kept it real about his post-injury journey. Parsons was a part of a blockbuster trade that sent him from the Dallas Cowboys to Green Bay. Last season, he started off red hot for his new team. But a torn ACL suffered on December 14th against the Denver Broncos resulted in the Pro Bowl defensive star being sidelined for the remainder of the season. Now it appears that he won’t be back for week one of the NFL season in September, likely playing his first game in October.
And a quote obtained by Zach Jacobson. Parsons spoke about his hard time accepting the realities of his injury.
“It constantly replays in my brain,” Parsons says. “I’m constantly thinking, how can I not—you don’t even know how much time I spend on ChatGPT about my injury. I just can’t accept where I’m at. I’m like, ‘Man, how do I keep progressing and progressing?’
He added, “It’s nonstop. I haven’t accepted it yet, but I work hard as hell every day trying to make sure I’ll come out of this better.”
But in a quote obtained by ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Parsons is looking to take his rehab a day at a time so he can be ready to be back on the field this season.
“The goal for me is to complete the season — not no relapse — and playoffs and pushing towards a championship,” Parsons said. “The goal isn’t for me to go out there and rehurt myself trying to force myself to get back the first few games. The goal has always been [to be available for the] playoffs, and I think we’re all on the same page.”
