Micah Parsons compensation: Cowboys receive two first-round picks, Kenny Clark

The Dallas Cowboys traded one of the best edge rushers in the NFL on Thursday when they sent Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Initially it was unknown what compensation was.

It is now known. Dallas is receiving two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

Kenny Clark is a fine player and will certainly help this defensive line, but that there are β€œonly” two first-round picks attached to him feels a little low, especially given all of our hypothetical conversations.

The Cowboys are clearly betting that Parsons will not help the Packers so much in the future as they are willing to take those first-round picks. Again, it is a bit disappointing given that more would have certainly been ideal here.

It stands to reason that Green Bay having to give Parsons the deal that they did was a huge part of what impacted the price. This is why many people have said that this was among the least opportune times to trade him.

This is all very surreal.
