Micah Parsons, Trevon Diggs both at the Star today ahead of minicamp
When Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons called Trevon Diggs to wish him goodnight the other day, maybe the two players had more to discuss than pleasantries. For the most part, both players have been absent from the Star this offseason, training and rehabbing on their own, although Parsons has been there occasionally.
One of the questions surrounding the team heading into Tuesday was whether Diggs and Parsons would be at the team facility to report for mandatory minicamp. Previously Micah Parsons said he would attend. It looks like both star defensive players will be there.
In Diggs’ Instagram story, he and Parsons are also shown working out together, though the location is unclear.
Parsons’ intentions to show up were less mercurial, considering he declared that he would not miss minicamp for the first time in his career, despite a lack of communication regarding a contract extension.
Things were uncertain around Diggs’ availability. He has been training and rehabbing down in Florida with Alkeme Sports Rx for the entire offseason and was already in danger of losing money based on his contract.
Parsons and Diggs are two veteran players on a defense looking to find its identity under first-year defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. Even if both players do very little in terms of practice, with Diggs surely not participating yet, it’s important they are present to start building something under first-time head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
