The Miami Dolphins are preparing for the start of their 2026 training camp in a few weeks. The team is in a complete rebuild mode this year, turning over from the era of general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel to the new team of GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley. To go along with those changes, the team has reset their roster, using this year as a chance to get the salary cap under control and to move from a veteran team trying to win now to a team looking to grow together and hit their prime as a unit.
The changes do not have many excited about the team’s chances in 2026. According to the latest FanDuel Sportsbook odds, Miami has dropped to +4000 to win the division – down from +3000 a couple of weeks ago. The Dolphins are projected to win just 4.5 games this year in what could be a long season for the team and the fans.
That does not mean there are not things about which fans can get excited. Miami may be young and relying on unproven young players and veterans on one-year prove it deals, but the team has the core players around whom they want to build and they are starting to put the pieces in place. Our survey asked which position group fans are most interested in watching this summer as position battles and the development process take center stage. The options were quarterback, wide receiver/tight end, offensive line, defensive end, linebacker, and cornerback/safety. The offensive line – a position that has seemed like a question mark for the team for years now – came in as the most interesting position to watch.
The Miami offensive line is projected to start with Patrick Paul at left tackle, rookie first-round pick Kadyn Proctor at left guard, All-Pro Aaron Brewer at center, Jonah Savaiinaea at right guard, and Austin Jackson at right tackle. Will the group be able to solidify as a unit this summer?
Proctor, who will be moving from being a tackle in college inside to guard, will need to prove he was the right pick for the Dolphins, who used the 12th overall selection on him. Savaiinaea struggled last year at left guard, but will now move back to his natural position as a right guard, with the team hoping that move and a year of NFL experience will lead to an improved sophomore season. Jackson has shown he can be a solid right tackle in the NFL, but he has struggled with injuries since the team selected him in the first round of the 2020 Draft. There will be a lot of focus on the offensive line this summer, and, as our survey shows, the fans will be watching closely.
