Despite all the uncertainty surrounding who will be the Miami Dolphins’ next general manager and potentially head coach, the show must go on for interim GM Champ Kelly and current HC Mike McDaniel.
Part of that is deciding which young players are worth retaining for the upcoming season.
The six players include:::
Henning, Huntley, Ossai, and Priebe all spent the 2025 NFL season on the Dolphins’ practice squad.
McLendon spent the last two seasons on Miami’s practice squad, eventually making his NFL debut in Week 18 in the Dolphins’ 38-10 loss to the New England Patriots. According to Pro Football Reference, McLendon played 19 snaps (32%) of the defensive snaps on Sunday.
Offensive lineman Kion Smith has started two games with the Dolphins at right guard. He has been with the team since 2021 after entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons.
There’s a very good chance several of these players find themselves on Miami’s practice squad later in the year, or even with another team, but for now, they’re Miami Dolphins — no matter how dysfunctional the franchise may be.
