Miami Dolphins’ Most Valuable Player | Week Eighteen | A fitting end
The Phinsider The Phinsider

The Miami Dolphins imploded against the New York Jets in the season finale at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday. They lost the game by a score of 32-20, but post game comments from Tyreek Hill suggesting he wants out of South Florida, plus an announcement from owner Stephen Ross about the continuation of the tenures of Miami’s decision makers made a bitter ending to a disappointing season even more difficult to digest for many Dolphins fans.

There will be plenty of time to answer the many questions that loom for the Dolphins this upcoming offseason, but that’s not what this article is about. This article likes to focus on positivity!

So who gets the Most Valuable ‘Phin award for the final time this season? The same man who was named team MVP by Dolphins’ media this year.

Miami Dolphins Week Eighteen MVP - Zach Sieler

Zach Sieler is the epitome of a true team player. Some fans mistakenly thought that Sieler’s dominance the last few years was due to the fact that he played next to another very fine defensive tackle, Christian Wilkins. Wilkins signed a massive deal with the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of the 2024 season, and yet, Sieler still balled out for Miami all season long.

On Sunday against the Jets, he finished tied for the team lead in tackles with four, but also had a tackle for loss and a team high 1.5 sacks.

He finishes the season with 10 sacks and an interception — the second season in a row where he hit double digit sack numbers and nabbed an opposing quarterback’s pass after also recording 10 sacks and an interception in 2023.

It was a shame that Sieler didn’t make the NFL’s annual popularity contest named the Pro Bowl, but we won’t let his immense contributions to the team go unnoticed here. Sieler is a shining example of how a good teammate should act — and there’s plenty of players on the Dolphins who could benefit from conducting themselves more like the star 29-year-old moving foward.
