After defeating the Buffalo Bills in week 10 and the Washington Commanders in week 11, the Miami Dolphins have won two games in a row for the first time since weeks 16 and 17 of the 2024 NFL season. As a result, the club continues to climb power rankings across multiple media outlets.
One such outlet — Pro Football Talk — has been particularly critical of Mike McDaniel’s club this year, even ranking them as the worst team in the National Football League after their defeat at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts during the first game of the regular season.
On Tuesday, Mike Florio and his crew released their power rankings ahead of week 12 — Miami’s bye week — and the Dolphins check in with their highest ranking of the season, sitting at #22.
While ranking the Dolphins at #22, Florio asks a question many Dolphins fans have been asking over the last couple of games; “Where was this version of the team before the G.M. was fired?”
While it would have been nice to have had the club playing football at the start of the season the same way they’re playing it now (as winners), the Dolphins have a chance to get back to a .500 record on the year if they take care of business against the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and the suddenly slumping Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mock drafters may be drowning in sorrow, but the Dolphins’ players and coaches haven’t given up on the season just yet — and their recent surge up the power ranking boards reflects that.
