Following their Week One dud against the Indianapolis Colts, the Miami Dolphins are adding some beef to their injury-riddled offensive line.
On Tuesday, it was announced my multiple NFL media members that Miami had signed offensive guard Cole Strange off of the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad. Strange spent three seasons with the New England Patriots after being their first-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Patriots cut Strange this summer before he found a home on the Browns’ practice squad.
The Dolphins will be without starting right guard James Daniels for a few weeks after he injured his pectoral muscle early in Miami’s loss on Sunday. Right tackle Austin Jackson is also battling a toe injury — one that gave him trouble throughout the entire summer.
Strange — just 27 years old — has played in 30 games during his three seasons in the NFL, starting 29 of them. However, during his final season in New England, Strange played in just three games due to a torn patellar injury from the previous season that sidelined him until December 2024.
The Dolphins will need to clear a roster spot to add Strange — but can easily place one of their injured linemen on Injured Reserve with a designation to return later in the season when that player is healthy.
We will continue to keep you updated with all news concerning the Miami Dolphins as it becomes available.
