Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby has been mentioned as a potential trade chip for the AFC West team. The Raiders regressed from 2024 (4-13 to 3-14), but the bad record allowed them to secure the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
They entered the offseason with multiple questions to address again. Minority owner Tom Brady is under the spotlight after things didn’t go well in his first offseason, making the calls for the franchise. Crosby was shut down for the season a couple of weeks before the regular season ended, which hurt the relationship between the player and the team.
All things considered, it seems like a Maxx Crosby trade might be more likely than ever. The Dallas Cowboys reportedly inquired about Crosby’s services ahead of the trade deadline, and the Baltimore Ravens were suggested as a landing spot for Crosby in the offseason.
Max Dible of Heavy suggests that Maxx Crosby join one of the best offensive teams in the NFL, the Chicago Bears, in the 2026 offseason. Ben Johnson transformed the team in only one season. However, there are clear differences between the offense and the defense.
Dible mentions options like Cincinnati Bengals’ Trey Hendrickson and Philadelphia Eagles’ Jaelan Philips, who would be available in free agency. However, Crosby’s age (28) gives him the edge over Hendrickson, and his production bests Phillips’.
Crosby is an expensive player, so the Bears would need to send a big package to Las Vegas to unlock negotiations. He signed a three-year, $106.5 million contract with the Raiders that will keep him under contract through 2029.
The chance of landing a five-time Pro Bowler should be enticing for any team in the league. Time will tell if the Bears can pull this off.
