Will the Pittsburgh Steelers actually think about trading TJ Watt?
The Pittsburgh Steelers are suddenly wheelers and dealers. On Monday, they acquired both Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith as part of a blockbuster swap with the Miami Dolphins.
They still have major questions surrounding their star edge rusher.
Arguably the biggest of this year’s minicamp holdouts, the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year remains unhappy with team brass due to stagnant long-term contract talks, as ESPN reported.
The Steelers are intent on retaining Watt on a new deal, but anything can happen.
This week, TJ Watt has his name coming up in trade scenarios.
One of those scenarios has him heading to the New England Patriots.
In the trade proposal, the Patriots would trade Kayshon Boutte and multiple draft picks for the Steelers’ All-Pro OLB TJ Watt.
WHO SAYS NO….?

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, multiple teams have approached the Steelers about a trade for him. Outside interest is likely to increase following the team’s trade for CB Jalen Ramsey.
In 2024, Watt appeared in all 17 games and recorded 61 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, two recoveries, and four pass defenses.
The Pittsburgh Steelers already traded superstar safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Miami Dolphins on Monday for cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith.
That is when TJ Watt’s name came up.
However, Tom Pelissero, citing sources, reports that the Steelers have no intention of trading Watt and that their focus remains on signing him to a new deal.
Amid the trade rumors, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a definitive two-word response to the speculation on Monday.
“F–k no,” a team source said on Monday.
