Another veteran QB off the market.
Mike Garafolo is reporting that Mason Rudolph is returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers on a 2-year deal that will pay the veteran quarterback up to $8 million. Garafolo mentions that Rudolph had an offer from the Tennessee Titans as well but chose to head back to Pittsburgh. I’m good with that. Rudolph played OK at times last year but was pretty underwhelming overall.
The interesting question here is whether this keeps either Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson from going to the Steelers. The rumor is that they have made an offer to Rodgers that he is mulling over on a beach somewhere. If he decides to go somewhere else or to retire, Pittsburgh could then turn to Wilson.
For the Titans, these quarterbacks keep flying off the board. Jameis Winston is still out there. I’d love for them to bring him in because then at least the games would be fun to watch. Winston is going to throw a touchdown to one team or the other.
