Mark Sanchez is now facing a lawsuit from the stabbing incident in Indianapolis over the weekend. As is his employer, Fox.

The documents were officially filed in a court of law on Monday.

This new lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages. The former NFL quarterback has yet to speak publicly about what happened.

Mark Sanchez faces up to six years in prison.

News first broke of a stabbing that involved Sanchez on Saturday afternoon. Both people involved with the bizarre incident were hospitalized with serious wounds. It was initially (wrongfully) presented as a robbery by Adam Schefter. Sanchez was presented as the victim.

That narrative has since swung in the other direction.

Authorities say the conflict began as a dispute over a loading dock. A 69-year-old grease truck drive claims he acted in self defense after Sanchez allegedly attacked him for parking in the wrong spot.

Indianapolis police arrived to the scene on early Saturday morning, less than 36 hours before the retired quarterback was scheduled to be on the Fox broadcast for the Colts game. He was later arrested while in the hospital on charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication.

All three charges were misdemeanors.

However, Mark Sanchez now faces a lengthy prison sentence after being charged with an additional felony for serious bodily injury. Surveillance video of the incident reportedly shows him as the assailant and graphic photos of the injuries sustained by his victim have since been released online.

A new lawsuit also targets Fox.

Although a lawsuit against Sanchez felt inevitable, the alleged victim is also targeting his employer. According to TMZ, it goes after Fox for negligent hiring, retention and supervision.

Delivery driver Perry Tole stats that Mark Sanchez appeared intoxicated and instigated the altercation. He claims he suffered severe permanent disfigurement, loss of function and other physical injuries as well as emotional distress. He specifically claims injuries to his head, jaw and neck.

Tole is suing Sanchez for assault and battery. Fox is also listed as defendant.

Tole says the company shouldn’t have employed Sanchez because of is his “propensity for drinking and/or harmful conduct.” He seeks compensatory and punitive damages from both parties.
